The Cleveland Tree Coalition is seeking support from a consultant team to create a governance framework and models for sustainable funding for the Coalition. This is an important step towards equitable growth of the City of Cleveland’s urban tree canopy.
Nearly 500 new trees will be planted in the City of Cleveland over the next 12 months. 15 organizations applied for funds through the Fall 2024 Cleveland Tree Coalition Grant Program, requesting over $800,000.00 to plant and maintain over 1,000 trees. After careful consideration by a Coalition grant review committee, $660,928.86 funds were distributed to 13 agencies.

The Cleveland Tree Coalition is seeking support from a consultant team to create a communications campaign and neighborhood engagement plan. This is an important step towards equitable growth of the City of Cleveland’s urban tree canopy.
The 2024 CTC Grant Program is now accepting applications through Thursday September 5, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
The goal of the CTC Fall 2024 Grant program is to plant trees in the city of Cleveland focusing on neighborhoods with low tree canopy cover. Organizations may apply for up to $75,000 in grant funds. Grant recipients will be expected to complete all initial planting activities by December 31, 2025.
The CTC will release a new grant program application on August 5, 2024. Applications are due September 5, 2024 by 11:59 p.m.
Through NOPEC’s Energized Community Grant program, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), and a federal earmark from Senator Sherrod Brown, the CTC is offering a round of grant funds. This grant is available to local non-profit and public organizations for tree planting and maintenance within the City of Cleveland. Eligible projects include: tree planting and supplies (staking, mulching, fencing, etc.); cost for establishment (watering, soil, etc.); and free tree giveaways (limit 50 trees).
Priority will be given to projects that plant trees in City of Cleveland neighborhoods with low canopy cover, incorporate proper site selection, and include a comprehensive planting and three-year maintenance plan.
