Plans + Reports

The Cleveland Tree Coalition plans for the future of our urban canopy. It will take all the combined efforts of our partners to plant, grow, and manage trees in the City of Cleveland. The following plans and reports outline strategies we can collectively take to make progress. Without plans and coordination, it is nearly impossible to make vital connections, leverage resources, and forge new partnerships.

Neighborhood Tree Plans

Ohio City planting project.

The Cleveland Tree Plan analyzes tree canopy data published for Cuyahoga County, Ohio, in 2013. The Plan provides more detailed analysis of tree cover and tree benefits by neighborhood and outlines a roadmap for rebuilding Cleveland’s urban forest.

Review progress in implementing the 2015 Cleveland Tree Plan. This report utilizes the 2019 Cuyahoga County Urban Tree Canopy Assessment data to evaluate the current state of Cleveland’s urban forest and highlight changes in tree canopy between 2011 and 2017.

This report accompanies the Cleveland Tree Plan 2020 Tree Canopy Progress Report. It describes how the twenty-five largest landowners—composed of local government, businesses, parks, and institutions—collectively manage 38% of Cleveland’s urban forest.

Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and neighborhoods develop local plans to support their urban forestry work. With the support of Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and partners like Davey Resource Group, local plans can provide a roadmap to reforestation. Check out the neighborhood plans below.
