Everyone can play a role in urban forestry. The CTC aims to amplify existing training opportunities from our partners. The CTC also sponsors new trainings to focus on emerging issues and meet community needs.

Trainings range from planting and maintenance to community engagement and advocacy. If you have an idea or have identified interest for a specific training, contact us. We will work with you to the best of our ability.

Urban Forestry Team, Student Conservation Association (SCA)

  • Gain hands-on conservation experience working with Cleveland Metroparks and other local organizations in Northeast Ohio. Build trails, plant trees, restore habitats, and explore exciting career opportunities in the environmental field — all while getting paid.

  • Paid Opportunities for teens, high schoolers, and young adults.

  • Get training, mentorship, and connections to launch your green career.

Tree Corps CREW Program, Holden Forests & Gardens

  • Tree Corps is an arboriculture workforce development program designed to provide valuable training and entry-level job placement for Cleveland residents in the tree care industry.

  • Offers a paid job experience, with training in tree-care and related careers for young Cleveland-area residents.

  • Spend six weeks learning key arboriculture skills, engaging in field experiences, and working on tree and land care related to the Cleveland Tree Plan.

Sherwick Tree Steward Training, Western Reserve Land Conservancy

  • Learn how to plant and care for trees in the city.

  • A four part virtual training series for Cleveland Residents.

  • Trainings are on Wednesdays in February from 6 - 9:00 p.m. with two in-person trainings (one in March and one in April/May).
